Dye Flakes

The dye flakes give vibrant bright colors ! and work very well in soy wax.

UV Inhibitor 1 oz

$ 3.25 Candle Dye* Uv Inhibitor*

Candle  dyes will fade when exposed to the sun or fluorescent lighting found in stores. It is important to protect your candle as much as possible.  When used at levels of between .2% and .3% , the ultra-violet light stabilizers will inhibit the effects of sunlight.  It is recommended to use .3% for colors that are more prone to fading such as blues, greens and violets.  (approx 1/8 tsp)

Dye Flakes are a wonderful way to get those deeper more vibrant  colors that you desire in your Soy and Paraffin candles.  To make medium shades it only takes .15 to .25%  and for pale shades .1%   *Not 1 percent....( .1%).

1 oz of flakes will color approx 25-45  lb of wax depending on the type wax that you use and the shade of color that is desired. (Flakes are varied in size and shape. The easiest way I have found to measure them, is to crush them up and measure them in  1/8 tsp or smaller measuring spoons. If you do not want to crush it, you can use a scale that measures in grams.)

Examples.

Colors vary according to how much you use in your candles .Of course these swatches are not exact, but they are close enough to give you an idea of the color.
